Synopsis
At five years old, he couldn't read. Through Primary School, he was completely average — no tuition, no special programmes, just a normal kid. By Secondary school, his results were inconsistent. At O-levels, the path he'd set his heart on fell apart. He felt like a failure. What happened next wasn't a comeback story in the way you'd expect, there is no breakthrough programme, no sudden change of approach but just six methods his parents held onto tightly and consistently over 22 years, that nobody around noticed at the time.

Eric Lim is a dad, a husband, a serial entrepreneur, author, former Vice President of a trade association, and a national dragon boat rower and a tech founder — but above all, he has a deep desire to help parents on their parenting journeys. His journey in parenting education began in 2006, when he published the national bestseller “Appreciating Your Child,” a book whose concepts were adapted in Jack Neo’s film “I Not Stupid 2.”For 20 years, Eric has organised many full-house conferences and parenting workshops, supporting many parents in restoring connection at home and rediscovering the joy of raising their children through coaching, conferences, workshops and small breakthrough groups. He has been invited to speak by the People’s Association of Singapore, DadsforLife, Schools, Radios, and many companies in Singapore and abroad.

A former Apple Distinguished Technologist, Yen-Lu is a visionary entrepreneur, award-winning technologist, venture catalyst & angel investor, mentor & advisor turned author and keynote speaker, mental wellbeing champion, social innovator & change-maker, ecosystem builder, humanist and philanthropist.
As an angel investor and venture catalyst in the tech ecosystem, Yen-Lu has mentored young entrepreneurs and businesses for many years. He has made significant contributions to the Singapore tech and entrepreneurship ecosystem, serving on countless startup business plan competitions internationally, government panels on innovation and entrepreneurship, and as mentor and advisor to the major universities. He co-founded a business angel fund in partnership with the Singapore government, served as a director of Business Angel Network SEA, executive mentor and adjunct professor to NUS Enterprise, mentor to INSEAD, plus numerous panels on entrepreneurship and innovation internationally. As an expert and practitioner in speech recognition and language processing (with 6 international patents and having worked in the field for over 20 years since early 1980’s while leading Apple’s initiative in this area in the early 1990’s), he was an early pioneer in the application of AI with a strong base in the tech space.
He is on a life mission to help bring about a kinder, gentler, more inclusive, more just, and sustainable world.
